Fate Trigger: A Battle Royale Featuring Anime Girls and Floating Islands
A new hero shooter battle royale titled Fate Trigger: The Novita has been announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and mobile. Developed by Tencent subsidiary Saroasis Studios, the game features characters with anime-inspired designs and various abilities, as well as an arena composed of skybound islands.
“The world has been fragmented into floating islands, threatened by a spreading Paleblight disaster that could destroy the battlefield at any moment,” says the press release. “Players are chosen as “The Awakener” and will embark on a mission to uncover the deep-seated secrets of this new world and shoot to ultimate victory. Players can also fight solo or team up while venturing into aerial battlefields, where they can scavenge, craft the best weapons, unleash their shooting prowess and dominate their opponents.”
The announcement trailer provides a look at Fate Trigger: The Novita‘s cast of anime girls, whose abilities range from summoning a tower to saturating an area with a barrage of fire. Also shown are gliding, hover cars, and a prone system that allows players to easily twist their characters to aim in various directions.
The Unreal Engine 5-powered title’s press release mentions more features, like “the ability to strategically respawn and transfer with easier difficulty for seamless accessibility,” a gun-chip system, and short time-to-kill. To deal with cheating, “an advanced AI anti-cheat system and a vast database of cheating patterns” will be employed.
Fate Trigger: The Novita will launch next year. A Steam closed alpha will begin on September 25, and the game will be at Tokyo Game Show 2024, which kicks off on September 26.
