Girls Band Cry Transforms into a Whimsical Platformer in This Short Video
Not much is currently known about the upcoming Girls Band Cry game, but one thing it most certainly is not is a weird side-scrolling platformer where Nina and Subaru have to deliver a drunk Momoka to her couch.
You can, however, see what such a game would look like thanks to a short video posted by the Girls Band Cry X (formerly Twitter) account. It’s supposed to represent the anime’s staff prediction of what the game will be, and that prediction apparently involves shrunken down versions of the mentioned characters, who are in the bizarre position they briefly assumed in a scene from the TV anime, dodging incoming beer cans. Upon reaching Momoka’s home, Nina and Subaru have to time their throw so that their charge lands on the moving sofa instead of bouncing off it.

The Girls Band Cry project from Toei Animation, agehasprings, and Universal Music, which currently features the music activities of the Togenashi Togeari band, began in 2023. The band’s real-life members/voice actors reprised their roles for the anime series that premiered in Japan in April this year.
Recently, it was announced that the anime will be edited into two compilation films. Another new development was the opening of auditions for a new band, who will also be involved with the Girls Band Cry game as both music performers and voice actors.
Outside of Japan, the Girls Band Cry anime is currently available on France’s Animation Digital Network streaming service, South Korea’s Aniplus, CATCHPLAY+ Indonesia, and in North America via digital release platforms.
