A new character PV trailer has been revealed for the upcoming The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor TV anime series, spotlighting the cool-headed, but loving Hadis Teos Rave. The anime will begin broadcasting in Japan on October 9, 2024.
Kentaro Suzuki (Requiem of the Rose King, Kud Wafter) is directing the anime adaptation, with Atsuo Ishino (Baki Hanma Season 2 co-scriptwriter) as series screenwriter, and Sana Komatsu (The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 3 co-character designer) as character designer. J.C.STAFF is in charge of the animation production.
Meanwhile, the anime’s main voice cast includes:
- • Shu Uchida as Jill
- • Kikunosuke Toya as Hadis
- • Ayumi Mano as Faris
- • Kaori Nazuka as Elentzia
- • Makoto Furukawa as Risteard
The anime is based on the fantasy romance light novel series written by Sarasa Nagase and illustrated by Mitsuya Fuji. It was first published by the Kadokawa Beans Bunko imprint on March 1, 2020 and has released six main volumes as of April 2023, which includes a short story collection released in February 2024. Cross Infinite World releases the light novels in English.
The story was first written as a web novel that debuted on Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2019. The light novels also inspired a manga adaptation by Anko Yuzu in 2020, which Yen Press releases in English for North America.
Crunchyroll will stream The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor and describes the main synopsis as.
Jill breaks out of prison the night before she’s set to be executed by her fiancé, Crown Prince Gerald. She’s struck by an arrow while escaping, but instead of dying, she’s transported six years into the past — to the night she and Gerald met. Desperate to alter fate, she instead proposes to the first man she sees, Hadis Teos Rave, her enemy in the future. This is her last chance to get it right!
