Spice and Wolf: merchant meets the wise wolf Episode 21

Found on Crunchyroll

This episode was apart of a new arc that I’ve never seen before. It’s information gathering time and now Holo and Lawrence are in a town they’ve never been for to search for an abby. So it’s an interesting, small town setting of strange and suspicious people. Suspicious people that don’t want to tell anything and it’s going to be interesting see how that all gets figured out in the end. Good luck Lawrence and Holo, with their good chemistry, figuring this one out or getting kicked out.

Episode Rating: Good

Wonderful Precure Episode 30

Found on Crunchyroll

Great episode featuring how the cast deals with adversity. Adversity in physical and mental terms considering the precure lost physically to the Gaogao and mentally because humanity killed off the wolves in Japan. It was pretty great seeing Mayu and Iroha struggling on what to do next and their companions supported them and they went back to save everyone again with new motivation. Motivation that only went so far, but Niko was moved enough to give the girls a new ability. Just genuinely a great episode.

The Fable Episode 21&22

Found on Hulu

I was surprised to see two episodes today and they really do work as a double feature. Not in a bad way, but up it should have been a double episode. The drama with Kainuma ended in an embarrassing way from how mom giving Otauba 60 million yen to avoid a fake trial to him being captured and dying by falling off a cliff after trying to kill Misaki. That’s the death he deserved by being a terrible pervert.

The real main set was the assassin thinking he can get the jump on Akira by threatening Yoko and then getting completely destroyed by her in physical combat. Akira showing up later and not even bothering to do anything besides offering the guy hot pot was great. Though the finale with the small conspiracy crew planning to kill the siblings is going to be an amazing finale. I loved these two episodes so much.

Dead Dead Demons Dedede Destruction Episode 14

Found on Crunchyroll

Why can’t this show just have actual relaxation episodes without threats of gun violence, alternate time lives, and the threat of humanity dying in five days. Futaba rejecting her job of assassinating a major figure, the casual time line with Ontan and Kadode where Kadode actually died and saved humanity vs Ontan saving Kadode and ending everyone. It’s fantastic and sets the stakes so well. In the end, everything gets challenged,

Code Geass: Rozé of the Recapture Episode 10

Found on Hulu

This show has turned into way more of a fanservice show for the rest of Code Geass until it got back to Sakuya and Ashe again. Robots are attacking all over the world and the Akito the Exiled group is attacking Europe. Sakura as the empress is having her arc as a leader and is really changing Katherine with her sense of pathos. At the same time, a little disappointed that Norland is a clone of Charles as Sakuya faced him down. (I guess Merlin was right in some ways.) I like a lot of the things going on, but I wish it stuck with the main cast of this show.

Oshi No Ko Season 2 Episode 8

Found on Hi-Dive

This show has had nothing but bangers recently. This is the episode where Kana finally let herself act as much as she wants instead of being weighed down by her past trauma. She learned once again in her role thanks to Aqua that acting is fun. Especially with others who also love acting while playing some huge scenes. At the same time, Aqua is learning to hate it and in his most climatic scene, actually referenced the death of his mother into his emotions as Akane/Princess Saya was killed. It’s such an amazingly strong stuff while going through Tokyo Blade.

Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings In Russian Episode 8

Found on Crunchyroll

Hey, we had a debate episode and it was pretty great. Alya really stood up to the aggressor Taniyama who wanted to get the teachers involved in who showed up to student council. It was still Kuze who stood in after Taniyama’s friend activated plants but Alya and Kuze work well with each other. I’m glad that this episode did allow Alya and Kuze to realize why they are working together and Taniyama’s attack was based on love, not hate. Yeah, just a good episode.

Dungeon People Episode 7

Found on Hi-Dive

I had a great time with this episode. Clay and Belle interview monsters who plan on working in the dungeon in which each sent in applications. I’m kind of amazed by it because Belle talked to them in which each talked in their own languages until the giant going in level ten who talked in English showed up. The last one which had a guy murder the applicant and try to rob the dungeon before Clay kicked his ass was handled so business like. Just loved everything about this episode.

Narenare -Cheer for You!- Episode 8

Found on Crunchyroll

Will, this is such a simple concept of a show where the girls can be scene cheering over night on TV, explode unpopularity, then fall apart when the crew forgets why they are cheering for people in the first place. It’s horrifying seeing what became fun turn into a business. The endless amount of stress that comes from the cast making the hard decision not to cheer for everyone. Especially when Kanata decided to go rogue and forget everyone else. Or megumi not being about to vent her frustrations that easily about not being able to move enough yet. I wonder how long the girls will remain seperated.

Episode Rating: Good

Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Episode 7

Found on Netflix

After setting up the expectations of the demon choujin losing, I felt a lot of tension to see if Black Hole could win this one against Darmeshian. So it was a pretty awesome bit of spectacle. From the Black Hole guy being able to hide in shadows and using his blackhole and Darmeshian who can use his speckles in different ways. There was a point where Blackhole was losing, but he managed to completely pull it off in the end. What a beautiful but crazy match. It stole my heart.

Tower of God Season 2 Episode 8

Found on Crunchyroll

This episode was better then last week’s for me, but still lacking quite a bit. But this is an episode of seeing how Khun operates his sqaud where the weakest person isn’t doing enough even if they won. There is also the Viole sqaud winning their match on a floor and moving forward. So it’s fine. The thread of the Emily ai just tied it together a little bit in the beginning and then the end when the ai turned into a person. A very situational and forced connecting tissue. So all in all, just ok.

Episode Rating: Okay

The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies Episode 7

Found on Crunchyroll

This episode set up the dynamics of the show a bit better. Especially with guardians (Mitsukai’s) a cat and a bird claiming their magical girls are better and the bird clearly pointing out that Mira and Mimori are in love. Though I like how, even as offensive as she is, Hibani lessens the rivalry and thinks she is friends with Mimori which at least Mimori isn’t going to be thrown out as a magial girl. Very interesting to see where the show will go with more cast members and dynamics at play.

Bye Bye, Earth Episode 7

Found on Crunchyroll

I really enjoyed this episode even with some confusing elements. Gaff telling how he murdered Adonis’ father casually while having a ceremonial fight with Belle was crazy. Can’t help but admit the scene of Adonis confessing his love to Belle after revealing his curse and then wanting to sleep with her was heartfelt but awkwardly done. Though together, I think Belle meeting Sherry the pampered singer was fantastic comedy and just wonderful too. Sherry really brought a new dynamic to the episode too. Yeah, this episode was heartfelt but good.

Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! Episode 7

Found on Crunchyroll

Lemon really stole my heart in this episode. This was her episode of moving past her love of Mitsuki. This was what she spent some time away to revaluate her feelings. Lemon poured out her heart to how selfish she was in still wanting to date Mitsuki to Nukumizu and eventually, after some talks, let her love go. A very insightful thing for a highschooler to do. I love that she moved passed it and can move forward. The opposite of Anna who is still wonderful and petty about it all. I’m glad that both of them can exist in the same series.
